Potential Candidate for Initiation into Freemasonry
I recently accompanied Lewis a Potential Candidate for Initiation into Freemasonry to the Harrow District Masonic Centre were the Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex were holding, the annual Potential and New Members Seminar, this gave Lewis an interesting insight into the history, symbolism and charitable aspects of Freemasonry especially in the Province of Middlesex. Lewis who had made contact with us through this web site was suitably impressed and we will now try to involve him in the social side of Freemasonry and enable him to meet more of the members of the Temple of Uxbridge, if all goes well we will be Initiating Lewis into the Lodge next year.
When first viewed through the eyes of the inexperienced or newer Member of a Craft Lodge, the role of the Almoner can perhaps appear sometimes to be one without much work required. An elderly experienced Mason usually with a smiling cheerful countenance, is conducted to the East and invested with a collar, with suitable words of thanks from the Master, which he has and will wear on many occasions for years. For the rest of the year he will carry out his traditional role, to a greater or lesser extent, of caring for the membership and their...

Congratulations to W Bro Peter Lawrence on his triumphant completion of the challenge, having cycled some 1500 miles in just 14 days from the Rock of Gibraltar.
I for one followed the daily updates posted on Facebook and the internet. The route took the riders from the Rock of Gibraltar, up through Spain with 3 mountain ranges, through France, over the English Channel by ferry and on to High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire where they were welcomed back by over a thousand friends, freemasons and the general public.
Congratulations Peter on your...
Rockride2 is a Cycling Endurance Challenge riding from the Rock of Gibraltar to Buckinghamshire, a distance of 1500 miles. The event takes place over 14 days during June 2014 and as the name implies, is the second time that this challenge has taken place.
Rockride was first held in 2010 with 9 riders and an amazing £75,000 for a number of charities was raised. Rockride2 has grown much bigger with 18 cyclists taking part, each rider raising funds for one of 10 charities so look at each riders profile to get information about them and the...
I hope this will be of interest and informative to Master Masons and Royal Arch Companions alike.
The Order of the Holy Royal Arch is the ultimate step in Pure Ancient Masonry. It is closely associated with the Craft and is an extension to the preceding degrees in Craft Masonry.
The Holy Royal Arch provides an added spiritual dimension to the Craft and at the same time a very special feeling of good Companionship is engendered amongst its members. Those who embrace it will testify to the high level of enjoyment they derive from their...
The initial meeting of the Founders opted to name the Lodge ‘The George Parker Lodge’ as a tribute to a Mason who had done so much for Masonry at the Masonic Temple in Uxbridge. This title was at the time unacceptable as the person to be honoured was still living. The present title arose after much discussion and was accepted by the Founders as entirely appropriate to honour the name originally suggested. The Lodge was consecrated on 29th September 1959
